The word centered, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary , is defined as emotionally stable and secure.

In today’s world one might concur that feeling centered, even if just for 15 minutes a day, may take a miracle. Miracles can happen! However, I am here to say that I learned to master the strategy to becoming centered by accident.

Suffice to say, this is NOT about learning to meditate. Albeit, I am an avid meditator and it has changed my life immensely over the years, however, meditation at one time, I believed, was a time waster. I literally had no time to learn how to quiet my mind to meditate. In fact , I thrived on the monkey chatter in my brain, believing the chatter was the gasoline to my adrenaline lived life, in hindsight it was also the stressor.

Many years ago I was hit with a triple whammy all in a matter of months, my Dad passed, a job I loved laid me off and the man I thought I was going to marry turned out to be mister wrong. All this change at once not only created extreme stress, I truly felt out of balance and lost. I tried to meditate but I simply could not get comfortable in my discomfort and I knew I had to find a path that had me excited and relieved at the same time.

Long story short, I stumbled upon a strategy that not only changed my life tremendously, I was manifesting my desires at a rapid pace by practicing the art of visualization. Through visualization we catch a glimpse of “what is” or  our preferred future. Anyone can do this and becoming centered is doable when you decide it to be. In other words, you must see it to believe it before it becomes a goal. And once you do your purpose begins to  align to your wants, desires and outcomes. This is the best moment to place your order to the Universe.

Think about your favorite athlete; perhaps a top tennis champion, Olympic gold down hill skier or soccer player, most champions started with a dream, however to narrow it down and get super focused entailed visualizing where he or she will land. The landing spot to where you want to be is paramount to the visualization process.

The question you may be asking  is, I don’t know where I want to land or what that looks or feels like? And that is perfectly ok, in fact, that is the exciting journey to becoming centered. Simply put, just think of your most happiest place, where your mind, body and soul feel at peace and immersed with heightened senses to your enjoyable surrounding. Once you become settled in to your dreamscape and begin to relax and release your thoughts. What happens is by opening your imagination, mental images that your intuition and third eye have held deep within begin to surface. Hence, the centered feeling within takes hold, this is also termed as outcome visualization.

A second example of  visualization is known as process visualization where imagining each step as if it already happened. I practiced process visualization when I decided to sell my home in California. I began to visualize the sold sign on my front lawn. I also wrote down a number of the amount I required to receive from the sale of the house and kept it on my night stand where I could see it every morning as I woke and every evening when I went to bed. I journaled every night that the person buying my home was a cash buyer and was receiving a very happy home filled with love. All my inspired actions, from sage-ing the house to decorating it as a welcome zen space for the new buyer instilled a quick cash offer in 30 days.

The combination of outcome visualization with process visualization is powerful and anyone can do it. Visualization is scientifically based that athletes who trained with visualization succeeded as winners versus athletes whose performance was based on  physical training alone. Therefore real world events with visualization has a profound effect upon the subconscious mind. The brain cannot tell the difference between imagination and reality.

Your thoughts and imagination are powerful. The more often you SEE yourself in your preferred future, with a strong feeling and belief behind it, the greater chance for your dream or desire to happen.

When you see your self as calm, relaxed and in tune, the greater you will feel as centered and stable.

The world is very abundant and the more you realize this the more you will attract what is available to you. The trick starts with your mindset. Why is that? Well, how do you get results? You do the work. You can’t do the work without having the knowledge. And even with the knowledge it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the skill set. Yet even with the skill set the right mindset is all that matters. Mindset + Skillset + Knowledge + Work = Results. No more. No less.

So before I share the secrets to unlock your abundance, you first must have an idea of what abundance means to you. You may define it as money, love, health, or personal fulfillment. The fact is all of those define abundance. To unlock your personal abundance focus upon the ONE that stands out to you the most.

Secret Number One: Your subconscious mind is what holds the key to your abundance. This is where your emotions live in the now. Your emotions may be hindered or blocked by the seven year old kid in you and are living with an old recording from years past. Perhaps you have a belief system where you have to prove yourself in order to make a good income. Or you have blocked love from your life unconsciously, based on a past hurt. The first mindshift to uncover your blocks is to learn to feel limitless. This is how you retrain the subconscious to reach success.

Secret Number Two: Get out of routine living. Routine living limits you holistically. Making small changes in your daily routine expands your mind and your body to feel new sensations and experience life beyond your four corners. If abundance is not in your four corners then it is time for change; start with a different walk or drive to work. Perhaps take a new yoga class and refrain from technology until after you have had breakfast versus as soon as you wake up. Again those actions encourage feeling limitless and forms new positive habits.

Secret Number Three: To retrain the subconscious mind it all ends and begins with images. Our subconscious mind is like a camera, it takes on visuals that encourage feelings that become ingrained into a want or need. Advertisers have mastered the art of images and know how to push the subconscious buttons. You too can master this toward creating the abundance you desire through images. Let’s say you want more prosperity as your goal. Gather images that have meaning to you and instill the feeling of prosperity. Place those images on your nightstand, your desk, your fridge, and your walls. Look at them often and especially at night before you go to bed. At night is when the subconscious goes to work for you and creates new neural pathways based on the images and feelings you have consumed.

Happiness attracts money is a topic that  is a controversial one, however, it is a topic that can either breed contempt or open your life to freedom. It all depends on your clear intentions. Intention is key to creating a healthy life and bank account. But if stress, feeling a strong “I need”, is on the surface of consciousness, then you are telling the Universe your lack of need ,which attracts more LACK. So how do you attract a mindset for abundance versus scarcity? Well, happiness can attract money, as it has been proven, when you do what you love and are following your passion with purpose. But if your passion is waning, your purpose will drown in unfulfillment and your vibration for attracting monies will drop off the radar. Here are three scientific strategies that not only work, you need to work them!

  1. Put money low on the list. According to researchers Kasser and Ryan, those who put money high on their priority list are at greater risk for depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. “Money-seekers also score lower on tests of vitality and self-actualization,” Ryan says.
  2. Have meaningful goals. As humans, we thrive on having a purpose, but what is purpose if there is no meaning behind it? “People who strive for something significant, whether it’s learning a new craft or raising moral children, are far happier than those who don’t have strong dreams or aspirations,” father and son team Diener and Biswas-Diener found. Positive psychology authority Tal Ben-Shahar agrees, having stated “Happiness lies at the intersection between pleasure and meaning. Whether at work or at home, the goal is to engage in activities that are both personally significant and enjoyable.”
  3. Take initiative at work. Researcher Amy Wrzesniewski says that, “when we express creativity, help others, suggest improvements or do additional tasks on the job, we make our work more rewarding and feel more in control.”

So how does one initiate a happier life when the bills are piling up and you need money? I am a firm believer in manifesting your desires and operating from your higher self. What does that mean and how does this pay the bills? I will tell you, when I was on the other side of zero, it was tough to see beyond myself from drowning amongst my fear, the day to day of getting by to feed myself let alone keep a roof over my head. On the other side of the coin, when I had plenty of money rolling in, I spent more time focusing on how to keep it rather than enjoy it, which meant working the 60 hour a week grind to keep the dough from running out. This was not how I pictured my happiness. The key is to live below your means, no matter how much money you have coming in and to simplify your life. The lesson to living simple and to focus more on what matters and less on material items. Spending on life experiences is far more rewarding than on “stuff”. Detox the stuff, sell it, goodwill it, make others happy with donations who are in need of the stuff you no longer require. Giving is the key to reward, giving and serving is the key to financial success but more importantly when you give you are happier. When you are stuck, you may be stuck by inner obstacles, old beliefs and not feeling deserving of happiness. I describe this as subconscious cobwebs which can be whisked away and I share how to do this in the life enhancement techniques in my book, Get Happy and Create a Kick -Butt Life! Lastly, come up with a FLOW system where your product, service, talent will help and serve others with doing what you LOVE and the money will flow back to you in return from your heart centered approach.  This is no time to be shy, get out and shine as your happiness awaits and will attract the money. If you are stuck, change what you are doing, stop comparing your self to others, and begin to add your signature to your talent. No one does EXACTLY what you do with how you do it.

Change can leave you or people you know, feeling alone and scattered. The good news is everything happens in an order of divine timing. The re-calibration taking place in the world represents a time of change for all of us. Change can be good but also scary, especially if it was brought upon you, hence stress occurs. A powerful way to break an old cycle or stress is by making a change as this can transform your life for the better. But, the most powerful and biggest secret to being proactive and transform your life is through the use of your imagination. (STEP 1)

Step 2 – Your attitude about change may need to be adjusted so try to be open to making change, this is an opportunity of personal growth and expansion of self to go beyond your limits, take courageous steps and dare to dream! Smart people like yourself have choices by being proactive versus reactive. What are you doing that is proactively occurring to get you in alignment and closer to your desires as opposed to your fears?

STEP 3 – Following a path with heart resembles freedom and authenticity. While following a path of head or ego depicts what you”should” be doing. Eventually leading to resentment or even a personal rut. As we enter Spring , the time of renewal, why not activate the use of your imagination? Imagining or daydreaming offers you the power to tap into your authentic power and successfully blossom while reinventing self on a path of heart. When you utilize proactive nudges, intentional exercises and support mantras, you will gain the confidence toward choosing happiness and begin to crystallize your strengths simultaneously. As you know your thoughts are a leading source of your reality. Perhaps you have tried various methods to manifest your goals but have experienced familiar blocks of resistance. In most cases, you deferred to default mode and a familiar cycle was calling you back, hence leading you to the same or similar spot as before.

As a master with experiencing reinvention of self, more times than I care to explain, I have discovered that it is usually the blocks that are pushing you toward elevating to a higher self and level of consciousness. It’s a practice to reprogram stale thought patterns that no longer serve you, ( STEP 4)yet that is just the beginning. However, when you zone in on new and simple techniques the expansion of your mind is encouraged and bursting with endless possibilities.

To become clear in a time of confusion , chaos or crisis, you must breathe and become zentered. You cannot imagine or manifest when you are operating in fear. Remember, whatever you are experiencing, is temporary. What lies ahead, has already occurred, it’s just waiting to be tapped into by the process of your imagination. You have the power to transform your day, hour, week and year through thoughts, imagination, creation and action. This four step process can propel you in more ways than you realize, it just takes a cup of courage , in knowing that it is your time to SHINE!

running in heels Are you a woman running heals, frantic to figure out your time with career, money, family and social life but end up not doing anything at all to resolve this feeling of disarray? Well, join the club! Each and every one of us has been there. I coin this as “women running in heels”, as we tend to do it all, want it all, try to make it ALL happen and end up stressed and simply exhausted. This was me some 2 years ago, giving, giving , giving to others with barely enough time to renew myself or adjust to a life worth creating, without falling short on quality people time, sleep and a life outside of my career!   According to the American Psychological Association stress gender survey, stress has been significantly more on the rise for women than men. Almost half of women surveyed (49%) reported a rise in stress over the past five years. We , as women, are all too willing to please others holding a false belief that if we handle it all, then life will be easier by doing it ourselves versus delegating the details to someone else.   So how is that working for you?

The bottomline is,  life  is running YOU, instead of YOU creating the life that you desire and deserve.  So, what do you really want or better yet, what do you want to get out of life, right now? The one constant that we can never capture again is our time.  Perhaps it’s time to just STOP  the crazy life treadmill and determine what feels right versus what is wrong? Step back and begin to get clear and envision your happiness , as this will attract the abundance, joy and desire you deserve! I learned this the hard way with a come to Buddha moment, where my company car almost crashed from going out of control and landed in front of two eight foot Buddha statues outside a furniture store in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Talk about a wake up call to the antithesis of my chaotic life careening me to the edge of no return.  I certainly would not want this to happen to you. However, in hindsight what I learned was the best choices are the one’s we make consciously, not from reactive measures or societal demands. We are human and the Universe has a funny way of  journeying back to self  to  determine if we are practicing self – love and self – care.

My story , as a woman running in heels, was an opportunity for me to go deep, recognize my soul calling and begin to consciously transform myself to the writer , now, published  Author and Inspiration Coach that I deeply yearned to be. Your Life is Your Message – Ghandi

This is not a time to be shy or hide under the covers. This is a time for you to shine, create your message and speak out with confidence. Perhaps you are a  frustrated designer, creator, teacher, caregiver, artist, writer , single parent professional, female entrepreneur, CEO ? Or all of the above! I have found many are shy about self promotion and how to sell your offerings to others. Here is a quick tip sheet on creating your message and easily serving others with your talent and expertise.

1. Remember when writing your copy include Features and benefits. Features Tell, benefits sell. Another words, your feature describes your service or product and the benefit is what will be gained by your service or product. Most people desire a relief from pain and or frustration OR are looking to acquire answers, knowledge and how to. Either way, your job is to improve the quality of life for another at work, home, career , love , spiritually, mentally and emotionally.

2. Be confident! Enthusiasm is contagious as is happiness, when you exude this, you receive it in return. Stop being so serious and hard on your self instead build your confidence, it’s sexy and it sells!

3. Your the Expert: Clarify what your intention is with your service or product by “painting the picture” of the need. As the expert, you understand what is happening on the front lines and have deep knowledge with avoiding common mistakes that potential clients tend to make. As the guru problem solver, get out there and sell your heart out!

Whatever you are looking for , is looking for you! The best way to attract this is to step into your spirit of intention with love and service and share specifically the picture so others can clearly understand the need. After all, we live in a three dimensional world, so use props, pictures, examples, before and after shots, testimonials from others or offer a 15 minute free session as a way for your future clients to see your worth and understand the value behind it.

When you operate from your authentic power (personality with timing), this creates a wind fall of abundance to you. This my friend is not just about money, it is about your self worth, where your flow of passion, talent, knowledge and love resides. The aka Happy Zone of your existence !

Many of us are trying to stretch our dollar as much as possible and media talk about tax increases, fiscal cliff and economic happiness is affecting our external world to the point where it may hit our private lives and pocket book more so than we would like. As the CEO of your life and destiny, this is an excellent time to learn the art of attracting money and empower yourself as to where you receive the most pleasure in your career and overall well – being .

A quote related to attracting money is by Buddha, “Success does not lead to happiness, it is happiness that leads to success.” With that said, studies have shown that the happiness of Americans does not increase beyond earning $50k a year, therefore the wealthy are not any happier than those who earn enough to live and enjoy the essentials to live simply yet comfortably. Although this may be relative, it is important to note that psychologists have studied and proven strategies that lead to happiness and according to researchers Kasser and Ryan, those who put money high on their priority list are at greater risk for depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. “Money-seekers also score lower on tests of vitality and self-actualization,” Ryan says.

Improving our thoughts toward the positive and relinquishing your fears related to money is a worthwhile practice. Often there is an obstacle that is a deep seeded belief or pattern that was acquired early on in your life that may be related to the lack of flow of money energy into your life. Think back to a time when this belief took place and release this from your mind, body and soul, it is old energy. As you begin to untie yourself from a former self- belief, allow the creative juices to flow and take a look at the areas of your life where your purpose had more meaning. Positive psychology authority Tal Ben-Shahar stated “Happiness lies at the intersection between pleasure and meaning. Whether at work or at home, the goal is to engage in activities that are both personally significant and enjoyable.” In addition, it is imperative for you to recognize that you are deserving of not only goodness but also of money. Be open to receive a windfall!

On the business front, many leaders are stumped as to what is impeding productivity and morale in the workplace?  In my research the two underlying factors are lack of autonomy and creativity, which leads to people feeling unchallenged as well as inability to express individual talents and potential. Conversely, in the past I consulted for an organization who became successful with happy employees and customers. Here is the down and dirty example of how they utilized their contract salesforce; the goal was to meet thirty customers a week and sales contractors were paid per customer sales call. However, contractors were given the autonomy to create their work week and call plan as long as the thirty customers per week was met. Over 90% of contractors met or exceeded the thirty sales calls a week and product sales were at a record level  high, with a 22% increase in sales growth for that year. Point is, laser focus on where you place your energies and how you create your days in each week is an achievable manner in which to improve results in your financial and career life.

Decide to stop being a seeker and identify yourself as a finder. Find newness in your actions and create an attainable goal. Be an individual with individual goals, for example, write down a goal that encourages motivation such as I will make $25k in the next 30 days. Once you write this down , allow your brain to gurgle and bubble with creative ideas, create and see what happens and have a buddy support you in your new found strategy to expand your business.

As we enter a new year, according to the Journal of Clinical Psychology 2012, the most common New Year Resolutions by Americans ; self improvement, weight, money  and relationship resolutions are only successfully achieved by 8% within a six month time span. The 49% of Americans who create resolutions often fail because they do not choose a mentor or coach to create and support achievable goals. Unfortunately, we often only choose what we want to see versus what is actually draining our lives and our finances. As you become clear and identify yourself as a finder versus a seeker, your actions will speak volumes for you and your bank account.

Imagine Your Future: 3 Key Strategies

Today is a NEW day! Each and every day we must practice the thought process that the best is yet to come and recognize that we live in miracles. Despair is symbolized by occurrence, how we react  is based upon your spirit. Human spirit is the most powerful of energies. When you have an uplifting spirit, it brings forth a greater speed of belief in yourself and leaves little room for doubt to enter. Moving with confidence in your life is elementary , yet difficult to acquire and sustain unless you are willing to fight for your freedom, well – being and a bright future.

History was made yet again with the re – election of President Obama. No matter who you voted for, it is our job to act and unite as ONE and be grateful for living in times of peace and not war, love and not hate, abundance and not greed; for the greater good. We may be a rich country, but we are not a healthy one.This is not about blame or leadership, but more of a reflection of ourselves. We are responsible for our own happiness, it is not the job of others, government or external forces, it is a strong belief in self, an inside job. I read the other day that a new idea can change the world, and that new idea could be your idea! Do you have a new idea that you are holding on to? I know I do!

3 Key Strategies to Implement your Future:

1. Listen: Listen to what your heart is telling you, directing you and guiding you. You have an answer within, it’s just a matter of trusting the feeling and determining how to act upon it. It will continue to gnaw at you until you flush out what is calling you. Whatever you are seeking is seeking you.

2. Find a Mentor: There is someone out there who is smarter than you. Sorry, but it’s true and this is a good thing! A mentor can assist with looking at what you may not see and help you acquire a “game plan”. In some cases, your mentor may have experienced similar feelings, a role or place in their life that you are currently experiencing. In addition, expressing your desires, ideas, visions, feelings and thoughts is the healthiest way to reaching clarity. You need to be heard and an outside party is committed to listening and pinpointing a new kind of change that feels right to you.

3. Write it down: While you are brainstorming, it is imperative to write down your vision and an intention in each area of your strategy  so as to reach your next milestone. By doing so, it helps you to clarify what it is you really want!

For example, perhaps you have a great business idea or want to relocate but you don’t know how this looks like for you or where to begin? You could comb the internet for hours and gather as much research and facts as possible. But until you step outside of your self, on a level that is unfamiliar and go beyond the comfort zone and crutch that keeps you in a box,  your old thoughts will resurface . It is usually the freshness and newness in change  that sparks your imagination, this is where you find the golden key to your future.
