Whether you are a high achiever or have an intense work schedule, the fastest way to stress is trying to do it all by yourself. However, highly productive professionals have mastered time management. So if you want to learn from top athletes, straight A students and over 200 entrepreneurs and other billionaires as to what they do differently here are a few tips:

 

 

  1. Focus on Minutes: of the 1440 minutes in a day, use them wisely and with intention.
  2. Set Daily priorities: The task that is the most important or hardest is the one you should work on every morning for 2 hours.
  3. Do away with your TO DO LIST: place ALL activities, including your workout time, in your calendar.
  4. Beat Procrastination: Imagine your future self has already done the task, and get it done NOW, so your future self will have time to do the things she really wants to do.
  5. Eat Dinner: Being home for dinner by  time- blocking your priorities throughout the day ,will have you home and feeling guilt free.
  6. Utilize a Notebook: Capture everything including your ideas in a notebook, this way you keep your mind clear. By decluttering your brain you intuitively organize your thoughts which encourages goal achievement.
  7. Only check email 2x a day, 3 at most: Look at emails once in the morning, respond, then afternoon emails and social media in the afternoon. This way your flow is not interrupted.
  8. Avoid Meetings: try to have short meetings at all costs, if at all.
  9. Say NO: what you would normally say yes to, start saying NO, unless it is part of your goals.
  10. Follow the 80/20 Rule: Spend 80% of your time on the top 20% that produces outcomes. Find that 20%.
  11. Delegate or Outsource: the majority of your time should be spent on what you are good at. The rest should be outsourced or delegated to. For example, if you are the boss or CEO, focus more ON your business not IN your business. Systems and process can be handled by parties whose time is dedicated to those tasks.
  12. Work Theme Days: schedule certain days of the week for major areas and work tasks around those days.
  13. Touch Things only Once: if something will take less than 10 minutes, do it immediately, so it is complete.
  14. A Morning Ritual: From Tony Robbins to Oprah, a morning ritual sets the tone for your day. Set aside an hour each morning for mental, physical and spiritual health. Journaling and gratitude are also important for improving happiness.
  15. Focus on energy, not time: Maximize your energy throughout the day and take breaks in between. Get lots of sleep, eat well and exercise, this improves sharpness and productivity.

I highly recommend a gratitude, happiness and goal setting journal. Most successful people spend 15 minutes a day journaling, it is the number one method to overcoming obstacles.

Why Not have a little fun, it’s summer and usually the best way to change your mindset and Get Happy is by giving yourself permission!

I read an article the other day, that one of the reasons why American’s are unhappy, is because we feel confined in our choices. Stress often leads to feeling confined and boxed in where our personality can lean toward old habits, default modes and the good ole comfort zone. Resulting in a feeling of “stuck” in our jobs, finances, health and community.

Allow me to give you the crayon within your mind to color outside the lines and throw out the “confining” box! It’s time for you to play, imagine, feel good and think positive! Truly it is your time to shine. So here are a few ways to do that…

– Give yourself permission with knowing you deserve happiness and get to choose it when ever you want!

– Give yourself permission, to dance, laugh, get the blood flowing in your veins and just ALLOW.

– Give yourself permission to wear whatever you want or even nothing at all, oops. Point being, get comfortable in your own skin, take a bubble bath, relax and get in the water, it washes away the cobwebs of the mind and cleanses the old for the new to come in.

– Give yourself permission to visualize what your heart desires. Imagine it happening, right now, close your eyes and see this happy event taking place in your life. Yes, YOU! It can happen for you. So many people believe good only happens to others but not them. Guess what, you’re up, it’s your turn this time for good and great things to take form and happen. You are more than you ever imagined!! Just give yourself permission, it works!

– Give yourself permission to just stop. Stop the old thinking and self- doubt. This dampens your spirit. We need your spirit, your spirit is here to help others with your talent and your gifts. Don’t deny yourself or others of what you have to offer because when you do, it smothers your joy. Change things up and go IN- JOY!

The world is very abundant and the more you realize this the more you will attract what is available to you. The trick starts with your mindset. Why is that? Well, how do you get results? You do the work. You can’t do the work without having the knowledge. And even with the knowledge it doesn’t matter if you don’t have the skill set. Yet even with the skill set the right mindset is all that matters. Mindset + Skillset + Knowledge + Work = Results. No more. No less.

So before I share the secrets to unlock your abundance, you first must have an idea of what abundance means to you. You may define it as money, love, health, or personal fulfillment. The fact is all of those define abundance. To unlock your personal abundance focus upon the ONE that stands out to you the most.

Secret Number One: Your subconscious mind is what holds the key to your abundance. This is where your emotions live in the now. Your emotions may be hindered or blocked by the seven year old kid in you and are living with an old recording from years past. Perhaps you have a belief system where you have to prove yourself in order to make a good income. Or you have blocked love from your life unconsciously, based on a past hurt. The first mindshift to uncover your blocks is to learn to feel limitless. This is how you retrain the subconscious to reach success.

Secret Number Two: Get out of routine living. Routine living limits you holistically. Making small changes in your daily routine expands your mind and your body to feel new sensations and experience life beyond your four corners. If abundance is not in your four corners then it is time for change; start with a different walk or drive to work. Perhaps take a new yoga class and refrain from technology until after you have had breakfast versus as soon as you wake up. Again those actions encourage feeling limitless and forms new positive habits.

Secret Number Three: To retrain the subconscious mind it all ends and begins with images. Our subconscious mind is like a camera, it takes on visuals that encourage feelings that become ingrained into a want or need. Advertisers have mastered the art of images and know how to push the subconscious buttons. You too can master this toward creating the abundance you desire through images. Let’s say you want more prosperity as your goal. Gather images that have meaning to you and instill the feeling of prosperity. Place those images on your nightstand, your desk, your fridge, and your walls. Look at them often and especially at night before you go to bed. At night is when the subconscious goes to work for you and creates new neural pathways based on the images and feelings you have consumed.

If there is one thing we can’t get back, it’s time! Which is why the best time to make a positive change toward designing a life plan is now.  

As business leader Jim Rohn states,” If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” 

Answer the following questions and you will experience the mind shift that encourages the embodiment of change matched with true meaning, which creates your life plan. 

What is your ideal life? Then ask yourself why? When you know your why you are in touch with your core values and this is what places action behind your desires. 

How do you want to spend your days? 

How much money do you want to make a month? 

What makes you come alive? 

What do people often ask of you? 

What is your zone of genius? 

Recognize that life does not happen to us, it happens for us. Therefore, it is an opportunity to make clear and decisive choices. You may not believe this to be true, however; I am here to prove to you how you make an impact in this world in the most profound yet natural manner of just being you. How? It’s called the power lead. The power lead is a positive opening that you often hear as an introduction to a speech, TV show, news heading. You get the idea.  

The more positive your power lead, the more ability you have to determine the outcome you intend. In today’s world, the negative surrounds us. So, a positive power lead is the reverse of what you might expect. Such as: With all this rain I find it so cleansing and refreshing don’t you? Or there is no other way to go, but up! 

When you think and lead in the positive, you are actually locking in a positive outcome.  

 
A client, Tracy, recently shared with me how she failed the mortgage exam twice and only had one more chance left to pass. She was so upset that she was laid off from her corporate job and looking for a new one the past six months and decided to switch gears, at age 60 and go into the mortgage industry. 

Her life plan was to no longer work in an office and have the freedom to work from home and stay in her dream location with the love of her life. We focused on locking in her positive outcome and put a date to her outcome. The process reversed her “stinkin thinkin” and she was able to pass the mortgage exam and celebrate her new life plan.  

 
As the CEO of your destiny, you have the power to create your life plan and determine your Technicolor vision. The cream will rise to the top with your power lead, in every area of your life, when you practice it and place action and discipline to your desired outcome.

Chances are if you are reading this, you know you require some kind of change in your life, but you may not be sure what that looks like? It is perfectly natural to feel stuck in life and it is also important for you to recognize that you will soon feel unstuck. Here are 4 steps how:

1. Feel Free to be YOU–   seems simple, yet many questions, who we are, where we are going and how to get there?  It’s ok to feel this way as the only constant in life is change. When you resist change and dig your heels in you  are basically  blocking the Universe from welcoming you into newness.  By being open, one must think positively and believe in yourself. Your comfort zone is no longer working for you, so it simply is time to move on. Newness feels good, try it, jump in, the water is warm! This is what the Universe is promoting your consciousness to do! Feel free to be you and experience something new, as the core of who you are is simply love. Feel the love, affection and belief in self, you will attract this in return and who knows what good will materialize.

2. What inspires YOU? – Think through what turns you ON, makes you feel good from the inside out. If you lost that spark, the groove which prompts you with feeling alive, chances are  you stopped doing what inspires you? Instead of relying on the excuses of why you put your inspirations on the back burner, you made a choice to get lost in your “stuff”, the yuck going on in your head, external world and or life circumstances. That’s OK, simply do what inspires you and capture your groove and flow, it’s in the action that movement forms, it’s inaction that creates doubt.

Science tells us that we as humans have 50% ability to create our own happiness. This is the power of choice, choose differently, right now, to celebrate what inspires you! Perhaps it is writing, painting, water skiing, cooking, gardening, yoga, meditation? You are the master of your domain, jump on the inspiration highway and get moving!!

3. Stop Worrying – you have made it through confusing times before and you will get through whatever is happening now. Feel confident in knowing your miracle is right around the corner and a breakthrough is on its way. Everything is happening in divine order, be patient, a positive solution will take place. Turn your worry into gratitude, focus on what you are grateful for in this moment, by doing so, you create a shift within and life starts to look better than what you want to believe. Think of three things you are grateful for right now, write them down and place them in an area where you see it often.

4. Take advantage of your Life Force –  we are all given a life force, an energy that allows for our own abilities to manifest and create whatever it is we desire. Many of us take advantage of our life force by ignoring it because it’s free. If you had to pay for your life force, chances are you would not be able to afford it because it is priceless. Your life force contains you ability to; imagine, visualize, positive thoughts, creative energy, and internal ambition. The ego plays games with this force because as adults we use those programmed defense mechanisms, such as denial, projection, undoing, which block our life force. Placing us in a stand still or “I can’t do it”, “don’t know how”, “it will never work” thought process. Your life force is a natural stream of what is possible. Be open to the possibilities and tap into your life force. Try this simple process, then work backward; Visualize, create, strategize, connect and celebrate. Visualize your what’s next, place your intuition into a creative form, choose a mentor to strategize the sweet spot for making this happen for you into actionable steps, connect with the Universe  and celebrate the possibilities and breakthroughs!

running in heels Are you a woman running heals, frantic to figure out your time with career, money, family and social life but end up not doing anything at all to resolve this feeling of disarray? Well, join the club! Each and every one of us has been there. I coin this as “women running in heels”, as we tend to do it all, want it all, try to make it ALL happen and end up stressed and simply exhausted. This was me some 2 years ago, giving, giving , giving to others with barely enough time to renew myself or adjust to a life worth creating, without falling short on quality people time, sleep and a life outside of my career!   According to the American Psychological Association stress gender survey, stress has been significantly more on the rise for women than men. Almost half of women surveyed (49%) reported a rise in stress over the past five years. We , as women, are all too willing to please others holding a false belief that if we handle it all, then life will be easier by doing it ourselves versus delegating the details to someone else.   So how is that working for you?

The bottomline is,  life  is running YOU, instead of YOU creating the life that you desire and deserve.  So, what do you really want or better yet, what do you want to get out of life, right now? The one constant that we can never capture again is our time.  Perhaps it’s time to just STOP  the crazy life treadmill and determine what feels right versus what is wrong? Step back and begin to get clear and envision your happiness , as this will attract the abundance, joy and desire you deserve! I learned this the hard way with a come to Buddha moment, where my company car almost crashed from going out of control and landed in front of two eight foot Buddha statues outside a furniture store in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Talk about a wake up call to the antithesis of my chaotic life careening me to the edge of no return.  I certainly would not want this to happen to you. However, in hindsight what I learned was the best choices are the one’s we make consciously, not from reactive measures or societal demands. We are human and the Universe has a funny way of  journeying back to self  to  determine if we are practicing self – love and self – care.

My story , as a woman running in heels, was an opportunity for me to go deep, recognize my soul calling and begin to consciously transform myself to the writer , now, published  Author and Inspiration Coach that I deeply yearned to be. happier lifeThe Economics of Your Self Worth

These days, it is hard not to focus our attention on the need for money and the perceived lack of opportunity to improve our situations. Will I make enough money to go on vacation, to support my family, or even to send my children to school? These issues are relevant to most Americans’ lives, yet most also do not realize that they may be focusing on the wrong questions. What we need now is a change of mindset, so we can stop thinking of money as the ultimate product of our hard work. We must instead focus on owning our personal development and self worth in order to achieve true satisfaction in our lives. Point being, you are ENOUGH, in spite of an economic downturn. So the question remains, what does your self worth mean to you exactly? To me it means unlearning what is stopping me and waking up to what I can create in my life with meaning, integrity and fulfillment toward helping others with my gifts and abilities. Are you doing this now or is something missing in this area of your personal development?

If you don’t respect yourself, how do you expect others to respect you? If you know you are better than purpose you are doing now, what’s stopping you from making a change? Be the boss of your own life! We have become so good at making excuses: there are no opportunities; I don’t have time to look for a new job; I’m getting by with what I’m doing now. Many of us would not like to admit that money is an issue and therefore a priority in our lives. If money is an issue in your life, what’s stopping your from making a change for the better?

Changing yourself is the first step to your own success. It takes time and considerable patience, but it WILL pay off (literally), and it will make you more satisfied with yourself and your life. Stop asking yourself why something isn’t going the way you want it to, and start asking yourself what you can do or change to get to where you want to be. Take control, make a change, and improve your life!

Don’t settle for a job or existence where you aren’t appreciated or only make enough to live paycheck to paycheck. This does not mean you should quit your job or current purpose tomorrow. But don’t ever convince yourself you’re your current state is the best it will ever be, everything is temporary. Now is the time to take a risk and define your SELF worth! If you don’t, someone else will. Being confident of your abilities and self-worth takes courage, I say, drink a cup of courage each day and step out of your comfort zone. When you live for yourself and love yourself, you will live a happier, more successful, more fulfilling life!

“ You cannot travel the path, until you have become the path itself” Buddha

There are essentially 3 Levels of happiness, which one are you?

We are  all responsible for our own happiness, this is nothing new. However, have you ever wondered, is this as good as it gets ? Perhaps your definition of happiness has changed over the years, as you have . It may be time to re-evaluate what your happiness set point is and determine a new path ?

Did you know that your happiness can exponentially grow ? According to the Vedas , there is a gradual increase in happiness as we evolve in life: worldly happiness, mental happiness and spiritual happiness. Keep this in mind as you think about what stage of life you are in, what you may not have had a chance to experience as well as the patterns you developed which are no longer rewarding or fulfilling. ( i.e. shopping, gambling, relationship hopping)

Happiness is a subjective topic, for example, a person, place or thing at one time represented happiness to you and another time brought misery. Knowing you are responsible for your own happiness or sorrow helps with realizing that you are not responsible for external stimuli of the world. Which brings me to stage one; known as basic or worldly happiness. Worldly happiness is enjoyment to a certain extent; singing, dancing, drinking, material items, money, a perfect body, life with no dis-ease. This is just one level, external stimuli is temporary as is the affect it may pose on your happiness.

Mental happiness is temporary joy or flow of happiness. As an artist/writer, I term my mental happiness,  as creative groove. A place or state of feeling jazzed, uninhibited, endorphins flying and all is clicking along with no conscious effort or self doubt. I may have convinced myself of this state of happiness as pure crazed ability to tap into my natural talent. Many of us who do what we love have felt this yet, all is not perfect or permanent in stage two either. We must seek what is still higher.

Stage 3: Ahhhh, spiritual happiness, when we want to know the Self and are striving toward knowing it, our happiness increases proportionately. It is by determining who we are ; as well as the gift and higher purpose blessed upon us by the Universe, God or a higher guide , that at this point, we can begin to imagine that our happiness has unlimited potential, perhaps out to infinity. Keep going forward , forward, forward, as there are higher aspects of happiness yet to attain. Its time to go after that  and enjoy your journey on the path to sustained happiness.

Sustained happiness is in fact a journey, not the next level of what you think it’s supposed to be or look like. Looking within is where you find the gold, the digging for the gold is the transformation process. The gold itself is the happy zone in which you thrive . No matter how quickly change is occurring around us, be confident of your own happiness. Once you recognize that your gifts are to serve and your happiness paves the way, your financial life, home life, personal and love life will flourish in surprising and fantastic ways. Take the leap toward transformation, as this is where your gold is.
