The main ingredient to a successful and fulfilled life is gratitude.
While during chaotic and troubling economic times, gratitude may seem elusive and most people often forget to practice the fact that usually what we need , we already have and for that we should be thankful everyday.
The easiest ways to make your blessings count is to count your blessings Acknowledge what is good in your life. Once you begin to do so, you will feel how powerful gratitude can be, in fact it makes what you appreciate stronger.
In the haste of our busy lives, we overlook the simple laws of gratitude, so here is a quick refresher.
1. Gratitude is all – inclusive – Good days give you happiness, bad days give you wisdom. Both are essential to growing and evolving.
Both the fortunate an unfortunate occurrences in your life leads to gratitude. You would not be the person you are today, which has contributed to the advancement of your life, by practicing gratitude.
There are no coincidences in life, the ordinary people you have met have taught you something in your life. Everything that takes place in your life everyday, take notice, it forms a new kind of perspective that may not have been there previously.

2. The tribute to the ones you lost is not grief but gratitude – Sometimes the greatest gift imaginable is the one that did not last forever. Be thankful your paths crossed and had the chance to create the most wonderful moments of your life.

3. Being present, is being grateful– everyday you wake up and take a breathe is a moment of life that leads to another moment of your life. Take solace in the privilege of walking this earth, the beauty of nature and wondrous miracles speaking to you by choosing to be present.

4. Gratitude includes giving back – Think about how much more we receive everyday then we give. The moments where a stranger let’s you go ahead of them in line at the grocery store, a friend buys you lunch or a cup of coffee for no reason other than enjoying your presence, a professional goes above and beyond to form a solution, just simply by listening and helping with his/her wisdom and knowledge.
It is in the giving and the gratitude of receiving that makes life rich.

5. Live and DO Gratitude – those who journal 5 things a day that brings them gratitude have been studied, in over a decade of scientific research, to be happier people. When you think, speak and act in gratitude, this is what brings more meaning and positivity into your life, according to Psychology Today.

When you are feeling sad, anxious, depressed or lonely, change your attitude to gratitude. Your blessings may be far greater than your perceived misfortunes. Try it!

Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” Melody Beattie

Almost everyone everywhere wants to be happier and guess what? We have the power to do it!

Whether you’re feeling down and are looking for a pick-me-up, or you simply want to be a happier person, changing your mood isn’t hard at all. Every day we experience at least one thing in our daily lives that can instantly lift us up and improve our happiness.

We’ve heard forever that money can’t buy happiness and it’s true.

If you don’t believe me then check out these seven small changes that will help your boost happiness in everyday life.

#1 Change Your Attitude

I’m sure you have heard on occasions that being negative only attracts more negativity which in turn brings down your mood.

Scientists have studied positive thinking and it simply attracts more of that happy bug to you. Try taking a look at the good things in everyday life and fully experience and focus on those. Or better yet, try to turn a negative into a positive.  (Source)

#2 Smile

Who doesn’t feel good when smiling? And I mean a real smile not a fake one! Smiling to make us happier is not a new thing. It was discovered by Charles Darwin in 1872 who found that facial expressions actively influence our mood.

Numerous studies have confirmed that when smiling, hormones called endorphins is are released into our bloodstream which tell the brain that we are happy. Something as simple as smiling becomes contagious and can certainly help us feel more joy throughout the day. (Source)

#3 Listen to Music

We all know how powerful music can be – music really does make us happy.
Have you ever noticed when you’re out and about, you tend to hear music a lot, whether you’re at the grocery store, shopping mall or the hair and beauty salons?

That’s because as a shopper listening to music, it lifts your mood – in turn, helping you spend more.

A study at the University of Missouri has confirmed that listening to music can make you happier.

So next time you feel a little down, crank up the volume and listen to that tune. (Source)

#4 Call a Friend

In all honesty, how many times have our friends brought joy in our lives?

Your best pal is your BFF for a reason, they make us burst into laughter. Chatting with your bestie can help to lower your stress levels resulting in an uplifted mood.

But it doesn’t have to be just your BFF, casual friends and relatives also help raising the level of happiness.  Studies have shown that one person’s happiness triggers a chain reaction.  (Source)

#5 Practice Gratitude

Did you know that counting your blessing each day actually boosts your mood and makes you a happier person!?

It’s been scientifically proven that gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions. Appreciating what you have actually leads a better, happier lifestyle, as gratitude has been associated with greater happiness. So why not wake up and spend a few minutes each day reminding yourself of all the things you are thankful for and start appreciating them now.

Remember, you don’t have to wait for Thanksgiving to express your gratitude, start giving thanks today and watch your happiness grow.   (Source)

#6 Sleep

We all know what a good night’s sleep can do for us, but what a lot of people don’t know is how much it can increase our happiness.

A study from the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School showed that sleep and mood are associated with one another. This means that a lack of sleep can cause stress and irritability, whereas a healthy night’s sleep can enhance your mood.

So go and get a good night’s rest and regulate your mood to happiness. (Source)

#7 Get Some Fresh Air

People tend to forget about this one, but it’s true, getting some fresh air can lift your spirits.

Sunlight and fresh air help you get your daily dosage of vitamin D which is needed to regulate your mood.

The Harvard Health Letter mentions that by venturing outside you can reap physical and mental health benefits. A breath of fresh air really is one of nature’s greatest medicines.  (Source)

Final Thoughts

So there you have it, not only is happiness one of the most positive emotions, but with a few small changes you can choose a better mood, with practice.

Become a happier soul, and take each opportunity and every moment of the day to boost your happiness.

YOU’RE OFFICIALLY INVITED TO THE CONSCIOUS PARTY!

Who doesn’t like a party, right? This is no ordinary party though — no costumes, masks, or facades allowed. Just you, showing up in all your glory! It’s been said that 90 percent of succeeding is showing up! We are all experiencing a transformational awakening together. What is so cool about this is that it gives us all a second chance to be who we really want to be, do what we truly desire, and live with our hearts and minds open. Have you heard of the term, tabula rasa? The Latin term means “blank slate” and according to Webster’s Dictionary, it is defined as “something existing in its original pristine state.” The mind is in its hypothetical primary blank or empty state before receiving outside impressions. By re-training the brain, I believe that we have the power for this to occur at any time. By abiding by our true nature, our minds become clear, and our brilliance unfolds as we rediscover the intelligence of our essence. It is a type of rebirth where you get to start again with this clear mind. It may be hard to grasp what a clear mind actually feels like without taking a long, relaxing vacation away from personal issues and the complexities of today’s world. You want to find clarity — but what will it take for you to grasp what a clear mind feels like?

Conscious Happiness

Remember Cindy Lou Who from “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas?” by Dr. Seuss. She was the bright-eyed, little girl and the hero of the story. A timid child, she displayed the most profound courage of anyone (including adults) in the city of Whoville. She represented and reclaimed what she and all the Whos of Whoville most loved, the happiest feeling known to its inhabitants: the feeling of Christmas.

Cindy faced up to the meanest, greediest, most self-absorbed creature — the Grinch — who was slowly stealing and hiding the happiness of each inhabitant until there was no happiness left. The Grinch believed that stealing every trinket, toy and piece of tinsel that symbolized happiness would leave an emptiness that the Grinch was all too familiar with: misery. As the snow began falling in Whoville, all the Whos gathered and sang joyous songs despite not having any symbols of their happiness. Cindy Lou represented the conscious happiness of the story, and the Grinch represented the false belief of perceived happiness. When the symbols were eliminated, the Grinch believed his response would be satisfaction. However, the true response was emptiness, a projection of the Grinch’s deep insecurity. The conscious happiness, however, is what prevailed. You see, what you might believe represents your happiness is a misperception or illusion. When you elevate your consciousness, you begin to see what truly is fulfilling to you. You can still create your own happiness, but it lies beyond your familiar perceived mindset.

In recent history, society has sought instant gratification. This collective consciousness has instilled what we believe is happiness but that is really a false sense of entitlement along with a mistaken sense of happiness. In reality, we all have the capacity to live happily when we follow our individual truth and don’t look for instant results. Each of us was born with a “barometer of happiness.” It’s our task to regulate this internal barometer so we can feel 100 percent happy more often than not. It will take a new belief system and conscious intention. We are all here to learn unconditional love where happiness is not only a lifestyle — it’s a conscious party!

Follow your Joy

At one time or another, we all have experienced life purpose fatigue . Fatigue is defined as extreme tiredness, typically resulting from mental or physical effort or illness. Life purpose fatigue is when the stacks of career and self-development books, coaching seminars and chasing your tail have left you weary and confused about your life’s path. These are obvious signs that you have attempted what you thought was a good idea but with less than happy results. At some point, its time to get serious about what your true heart desires. And usually when you are so sick and tired of being sick and tired that you finally decide to get serious, well that’s the hope anyway. There is no reason for you to be struggling , scraping and holding back from your passions, is there ? Fatigue keeps us in the negative and holds us back with low energy. Conversely, the “just go for it” attitude is what amps your brain and shifts thoughts to a more positive and higher energy which zaps a weary type of thinking. However, there may be more happening on a subconscious level causing life purpose fatigue.

Fear, apprehension and perfection are feelings that live deep in our subconscious, most often born from a critical parent or a not good enough attitude imposed upon us as a child. Managing the process of working through this starts with self-forgiveness, by stopping the negative thoughts and affirming that you are good enough! Although this process can take some time it’s important to understand that the etiology of not feeling good enough may very well have started from someone you love, who perhaps was acting out of their own subconsciousness. Albeit, this does not excuse their actions, yet it gives you the reason to begin forgiving this person in your own heart and mind. I suggest the meditation tracks of Jack Kornfield Phd., an excellent way to begin letting go and accelerate forgiveness , should you struggle with the art of forgiveness.

Here are 5 coaching tips for ways to get happy and improve your life’s direction to rid life purpose fatigue:

Perspective: We are living in a time of constant change. Although you may have started in a direction that was once meaningful, your market, customer needs or personal desires change as well. Spend some time researching on your passion, ask questions, google it, visit or interview people related to your passion and dig deeper. In addition, get your hands dirty and enjoy what’s organically related to your passion, you learn more by doing.

Acceptance: You are exactly where you are supposed to be right now. Enjoy the moment and take it all in. Allow to feel and learn as opposed to analyzing and pushing toward something that may not really feel right or where you have a half-belief ( not the whole truth or story). Accept where you are right now and give your self-credit for all that you have accomplished thus far.

Patience: You may have given yourself a year to attain a goal for yourself or your business. A lot can happen in a year and you may only have reached three-quarters of the way to meet your goal. It’s okay, you are moving forward, in a direction where your traction is not a warp speed occurrence. All good things happen in good time or divine timing. Have patience with yourself. And remember, when you have a goal, then there is no failure.

Deliberate Creation:When you place action consistently into a cause , project or dream you will end up with results, no matter what. Maintaining a  no matter what attitude and belief behind your actions will always lead to gold. Keep practicing, if you are not reaching results, tweak what you’re doing until you do reach results. It’s ok to make changes or develop a Plan B when Plan A is no longer a fit.

Accountability: Having a plan is easy. Placing it into action is the hard part. One must never, ever give up and the best approach is having a buddy, coach or business partner where accountability for getting sh*t done will happen, each and every week!

On a personal note, if someone has not told you lately; YOU are smart, powerful and talented and this is relevant to whichever passion you choose to express !

TODAYS QUOTE: Self-worth comes from one thing – thinking that you are worthy.  ~Wayne Dyer

How to be healthier and Happier about Finding LoveIn a recent interview I was asked by a dating coach about Love, Health, Happiness and Finding Love again after a breakup or divorce. Love and happiness go hand in hand, take a peek at the love insights:

A common problem my clients seem to face is deep rooted skepticism and bitterness especially those who have been recently rejected, dumped, cheated and abandoned by a spouse or significant other. They reach a point where they are either burned out or they have completely lost faith that they can ever find the right man or woman and be happy. How can people overcome this negativity and skepticism and cultivate a positive outlook and be hopeful?

If you want to find love in a healthier and happier manner, you must be what you want to attract. Be the change that you seek.

Yes, it is common to feel skepticism about people who disappoint you, know you are not alone in feeling this way. As you navigate the healing process we are often left with unanswered questions, the why’s, the how come’s, the what did I do or say?

I am here to tell you, that you are ENOUGH! And a man/woman certainly does not define you. However, when things don’t work out with someone whether it’s to do with love or any other kind of relationship it usually represents a lack of an agreement(s). Most of us who are not clearly communicating and forming agreements with each other, where both are on the same page, both will have different expectations. Expectations often lead to disappointment. So think about those love relationships and put yourself in the other person’s shoes for a minute, do you recall a conversation about exclusivity with each other, or the word commitment or loyalty? Now, whether he or she shared these words with you or not, what did their actions portray?

If a person does not follow his/her words with actions or simply the actions tell you how they want to be with you, than there is a lack of integrity or incongruence taking place. This may not have to do with you at all, in other words, if a person cannot be honest with themselves, how can they be honest with you? So let’s go a step deeper, what is it about yourself that you are not being honest about? The more you become honest about yourself the more you will recognize and attract a healthy person who also loves them self. Until you are honest about feelings about YOU, you will continue to mirror yourself in another and repeat toxic feel good patterns.

To become happier and healthier start loving yourself more and stop seeking confirmation from external entities. Happiness is an inside job, take some time out for you and enjoy your life and do what you love to do. In most cases, you will meet the right person who loves to do similar things that you do! Be kind to yourself and choose someone who is kind to you, by doing so you must be BELIEVE you deserve happiness, you deserve love and you can start to receive this in return. But you must be open to receive. Start with a new mantra, I believe and I receive mantra ” I believe I am good and I am open to receive all that is good.” A mantra supplies positive energy all day long. The more you think and utilize your new mantra the sooner your life will change because all that occurs is how you respond to it. Change your response, change your attitude about it and recognize there is something far better awaiting for you.

Lastly, it is ok to feel sad, disappointed, anger, we must embrace our feelings in order to understand what happiness is for you. Feel your feelings and know that all feelings are fleeting. Ponder, contemplate, express those feelings in a healthy manner, as this leads you one step closer to a happier you!

Happiness attracts money is a topic that  is a controversial one, however, it is a topic that can either breed contempt or open your life to freedom. It all depends on your clear intentions. Intention is key to creating a healthy life and bank account. But if stress, feeling a strong “I need”, is on the surface of consciousness, then you are telling the Universe your lack of need ,which attracts more LACK. So how do you attract a mindset for abundance versus scarcity? Well, happiness can attract money, as it has been proven, when you do what you love and are following your passion with purpose. But if your passion is waning, your purpose will drown in unfulfillment and your vibration for attracting monies will drop off the radar. Here are three scientific strategies that not only work, you need to work them!

  1. Put money low on the list. According to researchers Kasser and Ryan, those who put money high on their priority list are at greater risk for depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. “Money-seekers also score lower on tests of vitality and self-actualization,” Ryan says.
  2. Have meaningful goals. As humans, we thrive on having a purpose, but what is purpose if there is no meaning behind it? “People who strive for something significant, whether it’s learning a new craft or raising moral children, are far happier than those who don’t have strong dreams or aspirations,” father and son team Diener and Biswas-Diener found. Positive psychology authority Tal Ben-Shahar agrees, having stated “Happiness lies at the intersection between pleasure and meaning. Whether at work or at home, the goal is to engage in activities that are both personally significant and enjoyable.”
  3. Take initiative at work. Researcher Amy Wrzesniewski says that, “when we express creativity, help others, suggest improvements or do additional tasks on the job, we make our work more rewarding and feel more in control.”

So how does one initiate a happier life when the bills are piling up and you need money? I am a firm believer in manifesting your desires and operating from your higher self. What does that mean and how does this pay the bills? I will tell you, when I was on the other side of zero, it was tough to see beyond myself from drowning amongst my fear, the day to day of getting by to feed myself let alone keep a roof over my head. On the other side of the coin, when I had plenty of money rolling in, I spent more time focusing on how to keep it rather than enjoy it, which meant working the 60 hour a week grind to keep the dough from running out. This was not how I pictured my happiness. The key is to live below your means, no matter how much money you have coming in and to simplify your life. The lesson to living simple and to focus more on what matters and less on material items. Spending on life experiences is far more rewarding than on “stuff”. Detox the stuff, sell it, goodwill it, make others happy with donations who are in need of the stuff you no longer require. Giving is the key to reward, giving and serving is the key to financial success but more importantly when you give you are happier. When you are stuck, you may be stuck by inner obstacles, old beliefs and not feeling deserving of happiness. I describe this as subconscious cobwebs which can be whisked away and I share how to do this in the life enhancement techniques in my book, Get Happy and Create a Kick -Butt Life! A Creative Toolbox to Rapidly Activate the Life you Desire.

Lastly, come up with a FLOW system where your product, service, talent will help and serve others with doing what you LOVE and the money will flow back to you in return from your heart centered approach.  This is no time to be shy, get out and shine as your happiness awaits and will attract the money. If you are stuck, change what you are doing, stop comparing your self to others, and begin to add your signature to your talent. No one does EXACTLY what you do with how you do it.

In the next blog I will share steps to manifesting that have worked for me and countless others toward honing in on your purpose and thriving.

Please share your thoughts on how your happiness attracts money on our blog!

stressfreeholidayStress is a very common factor is today’s busy world. Between long to-do lists, managing daily expenses and juggling multiple roles we play in our lives, it is no surprise that stress consumes Americans.

According to the 2013 Stress in America survey, most adults do not believe they’re doing a good job managing the demands of life. The good news is stress and anxiety is highly manageable. However, there are several myths related to stress as well as realistic de-stressors.

People have various ideas about what stress is. For example, burn out from work is less about the hours you put in and more about feeling unfulfilled or lack of interest about the work involved in the job.

By proactively managing our stress and well-being you can begin to intentionally create meaning and pleasure in your life toward a lifestyle that has you feeling excited about the holidays and New Year to come.

Take note to common myths and de-stressors to improve well-being: Ready, set, go!

Don’t wait for a rare opportunity to meet with friends once a year.

Do create more realistic ways in which to spend quality time with friends more often.

Don’t buy a gift to fulfill an expectation.

Do buy or create a personal memento that depicts meaning, purpose and pleasure.

Don’t forfeit your vacation days until the end of the year.

Do schedule vacations and commit to taking all of your vacation days to rest and enjoy life outside of your job throughout the year.

Don’t linger in old patterns that stunt your potential.

Do choose to focus on what brings you closer to your desires by going beyond your comfort zone and try something new.

Don’t use holiday food and alcohol as an excuse to cope with your anxiety and stress.

Do exercise 30 minutes a day to reduce stress, which actually makes you 2.8 years younger.

Don’t focus negative energy toward what is not working in your life.

Do practice what you have gratitude for and write it in a journal nightly. Those who keep a gratitude journal have been reported to be healthier.

Don’t put off your dreams any longer.

Do take time each day to accomplish a task that brings you closer to your life’s dream.

Don’t ignore what your body is telling you.

Do get a good night rest, every night.

Don’t wait to buy gifts and rush to accomplish holiday tasks at the last minute.

Do get organized and start holiday tasks and purchases, by a specific date, to avoid holiday traffic and the mad rush.

Don’t think I must fight stress.

Do think of healing as the answer.

Don’t feel you need to isolate yourself when holiday blues occur.

Do surround yourself with people who lift you up, reach out and fake it to you make it. We have the capacity to re-train our brains by changing the energy we create within ourselves.

happy coach  While many assume happiness is a derivative of success, studies have proven that isn’t quite the case; that many professionally successful people and those with notable wealth are actually not happy—often quite the opposite. Even more surprising is that what you might perceive as success could actually be hindering your happiness.

“As a society we’ve gotten it backwards: it is happiness that leads to success not vice versa,” notes “America’s Happyologist” Jackie Ruka, lifestyle expert and Founder of the Get Happy Zone (www.gethappyzone.com) personal development organization. “Scientific studies actually prove that we are the ambassadors of our own happiness in that we have full control over this enviable state of mind, which is a powerful precursor of success in terms of the true meaning of the word and how it impacts the human experience.”

An array of credentialed psychologists and other respected researchers have studied people around the globe to discern how money, culture, attitude, health, memory, altruism and daily habits affect our well-being. The field of “positive psychology” has, in fact, dug deep and formerly recognized that a person’s thoughts and actions can have a significant effect on their happiness and life fulfillment.

With this in mind, Ruka offers this list of 10 scientifically proven happiness strategies:

  1. Savor ordinary events. Study participants who took the time to do this “showed significant increases in happiness and reductions in depression,” psychology professor Sonja Lyubomirsky notes.  Reflecting back on moments of your day, even those you might ordinarily hurry through, is a worthwhile effort.
  2. Avoid comparisons. Focusing on your own personal achievements instead of making comparisons to others will better impact your happiness and self-esteem, according to Lyubomirsky, which leads to greater life satisfaction. It’s easy to lose sight of what achievements—both personal and professional—have enriched our life, and we must remind ourselves…often.
  3. Put money low on the list. According to researchers Kasser and Ryan, those who put money high on their priority list are at greater risk for depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. “Money-seekers also score lower on tests of vitality and self-actualization,” Ryan says.
  4. Have meaningful goals. As humans, we thrive on having a purpose, but what is purpose if there is no meaning behind it? “People who strive for something significant, whether it’s learning a new craft or raising moral children, are far more happier than those who don’t have strong dreams or aspirations,” father and son team Diener and Biswas-Diener found. Positive psychology authority Tal Ben-Shahar agrees, having stated “Happiness lies at the intersection between pleasure and meaning. Whether at work or at home, the goal is to engage in activities that are both personally significant and enjoyable.”
  5. Take initiative at work. Researcher Amy Wrzesniewski says that, “when we express creativity, help others, suggest improvements or do additional tasks on the job, we make our work more rewarding and feel more in control.”
  6. Make friends and treasure family. This may seem like a no-brainer, but we need relationships. Sometimes we underestimate the importance of such connections. And, the more genuine the better as Diener and Biswas-Diener notes, “We don’t just need relationships; we need close ones that involve caring and understanding.”
  7. Fake it until you make it.  This actually works, according to Diener and Biswas-Diener, who assert, “Happy people see possibilities, opportunities, and success. When they think of the future, they are optimistic, and when they review the past, they tend to savor the high points.” This may take some practice, so try to smile even when you don’t feel like it.
  8. Keep a gratitude journal. When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, you can either become a time bomb waiting to go off or you can recalibrate. An excellent tool for detoxing and redirecting your thoughts is with a gratitude journal. Those who write in a journal on a weekly basis are healthier, more optimistic, and more likely to achieve personal goals, according to author Robert Emmons. Martin Seligman’s research also revealed that people who write “gratitude letters” to someone significant in their lives score lower on depression and higher on happiness and the effect lasts for weeks. Gratitude and the human spirit together make powerful allies.
  9. Get moving. According to a Duke University study, exercise may be as effective as drugs in treating even major depression. Exercise releases endorphins, the feel good hormone. Duke researcher Blumenthal suggested that “exercise may be beneficial because patients are actually taking an active role in trying to get better…patients who exercised may have felt a greater sense of mastery over their condition and gained a greater sense of accomplishment. They felt more self-confident and had better self-esteem…” When you feel good, you tend to continue the behavior related to it and are motivated to adopt others.
  10. Serve others. This is often referred to as a “helper’s high.” According to ethicist and researcher Stephen Post, helping a neighbor, volunteering, and donating goods and services results in more health benefits than exercising or quitting smoking.  Researcher Elizabeth Dunn similarly found that those who spent money on others reported greater happiness than those who spent it on themselves.

Ruka concludes, “With so much science underscoring that we are active participants in the process, I prefer to regard happiness as a verb. Indeed, navigating happiness is a journey filled with a series of actions…it’s not an outcome. No matter the circumstance, we all have the capacity to be happy. The only question is what next step will you take to foster your own?”

Most of us view happiness as the feel good emotion, however the scientists of positive psychology also define happiness with relation to achieving a goal. Find happinessJohn Locke wrote, “the business of man is to be happy,” so it would be fair to say that the business of companies is to  improve the happiness of their  internal and external customers. The happiness strategies related to those exceptional flourishing companies is the recognition of the consumer-oriented, experience-related economy of today, where customers happiness is crucial for successful organizations. What separates the exceptional from the average organization is the happiness mindset mimicked from what consumers standards are; which is a happy consumer finds meaning in what they buy. The flourishing companies have figured this out and as the cream always rises to the top, so do the strategies that have gotten them there. Here are a few happiness strategies that organizations can implement for the long term, from the inside out:

1. Authentic Leadership : Taking an interest in your employees and the meaning behind their job not only is an appreciative gesture it is an authentic one. People are better focused with clear and intentional goals from transparent leaders. Employees want to feel connected, as engaged staff is a happy staff and a happy staff is a productive one. A 2011 Gallup poll found that 71 percent of American employees are disengaged from their workplace. What this means is that employees are void of the many benefits related to an engaged staff, at it’s worst this means they are contaminating the surrounding environment and giving customers a bad experience.

2. Making a Difference: A company culture who is making a difference is empowering to it’s employees as well as their customers. Everyone wants to be part of a story. Those who are feeling fulfilled by an experience is a person who embraces a meaningfulness in their purpose. When you feel good, the chances of repeating the behavior is more likely.  Robust brands have benefited from the “feel good” psychology and expanded their product line because of it, brands such as, McDonald’s”happy meal”, Apples iphone and the ultimate driving experience of BMW. However, Tom’s shoes, “One for One”, offers impactful meaning to the buyer, knowing their purchase of  shoes offers a pair of shoes to another less fortunate, now that is authentic, smart and sustainable!

3. Employee Autonomy: Gone are the days of micromanagement, people want to feel they have control over their personal and professional destinies. Importance is placed on what we do and why we do it rather than hours worked.

4. Work Integration: Is the new life balance; working effectively so one can have more time for yourself, family, friends and life.

5. Customer Engagement: The best business for any organization is repeat business. Customer engagement is crucial to the sustainability of a products life cycle and to the “happynomics” of  the organization. Getting customers to engage in your brand is more likely to convert them as a buyer and a repeat customer.

The question remains what can you do to go from good to great in your workplace?

Greetings and Welcome to my first happiness journal of 2014 ! Todays lesson for happiness in 2014 is about following your truth.   Happiness

As we have endured complex times of 2013, the lessons have molded a resilience we never knew we had and survived with leading to moments of inner truth. Sometimes facing our truth requires a detox of negativity. I do not mean this as just cleaning out the clutter in your life but more of detoxing what is toxic in your life. This may include people, a stressful or unfulfilling job, a daily grind or changing toxic “feel good” patterns. This  leads to a happier 2014 in which the word for 2014 is SIMPLIFY.

It is your truth that will prevail! When you listen to your heart and act upon it, you come closer to what is known as your JOY. Or as I coin it, Just Owning Yourself. As you lead with your JOY what occurs is the alignment of your purpose, your passion and the harmony of your actions simultaneously. Mastering JOY , in my experience with mentoring professionals, creates sustainable happiness, not just an emotion of happiness but an inner peace with a bit of excitement that manifests. This does not mean obstacles will not occur, but what it best means is you have a positive way in which to overcome those obstacles. You see, there is no stress, worry, reactiveNESS because you are organized and clear about your vision. Becoming clear is where the word SIMPLIFY comes into play, the shiny objects are gone, the excess is eliminated and the feeling of “need” becomes invisible. You have everything you want in the simplicities of life. Without healthy self-love, healthy relationships and a strong foundation there is no morale. We require morale for self awareness, longevity and for feeling fulfilled. The same corresponds with in organizations, systems , government and families. I found this quote from Tony Robbins to be significant to today’s world in which we live:

“It’s important to remember that most people spend more time in their business than they do with their children, or with their spouse. For most business owners, the business is just an extension of their identity. So when we can help people make a shift or a dramatic change in their own psychology, that spills over to impact their business and every other area of their life.”

It is your business to listen to your JOY, your TRUTH and simplify, as an accountable action, as you deserve to renew and live your dream out loud ! This is part of the amazing journey we are here to experience.

How you go about finding your path to happiness is through 3 factors: self awareness, mastery and action. We all require mentors to be our best self in both business, relationships, dating, marriage and relationship with self. In order to go to the next level of  a healthier and happier YOU, there is no need to do it alone, why re-create the wheel? My three gifts  to begin your path to happiness, abundance and wealth is located here, down load your free happiness assessment and the two meditations for wealth as well as banishing your fears, for good! Yes, you can do this and I am here to let you know, you are exuberant in every way, begin to shine your light and don’t forget your  Happiness Gift bag.
