How to Invite Blessings into your  Life

 

A blessing in today’s terms can be perceived as a gift, just at the right time. Others perceptions may see a blessing as a gift from God, a favor from heaven. Of course, the greatest blessing is life itself!  Therefore you are a walking, talking blessing upon this earth filled with light and energy. Now before I get super woo-woo, hear me out… you see blessings are not one sided, it’s a two way street in the world of blessings.  I invite you to step into the blessing you are, the blessing you can become or the blessing you will receive.

 

Anytime you hear from a special person stating I love you, I am proud of you, you are wonderful, the Universe/God, releases strength in you. These are not just words that you say; these are blessings that propel others toward their destiny.  Blessings that a Mother gives her child or children, a teacher shares to her students, a friend says to a friend, a wife and husband exchange are all blessings to reaching your true potential. That’s how powerful the energy of blessings can be.

 

Even a stranger can be a blessing, in disguise.  A blessing is a difference maker, the strategic piece to the puzzle that becomes the healing balm of what you may pray for or need, just in time, which pivots you to a place of belonging. What may seem minor to you can change the world with how you made that person feel. For example, I had a mailbox at a local spot in town where I picked up my packages and mail. I befriended the owner and got a chance to learn about her life and what a hard worker she was with running her service impeccably, as well as the sacrifices she made to please her customers. One day, I stepped into her office and sat down to say hi and catch up. Susan was dismayed and shared that her business was being sued from an unhappy bride and customer whose wedding dress was ruined upon shipping. Susan told her it was important for her to sign for extra insurance, in case anything happened in the delivery process, the new bride, against Susan’s advice, chose not to pay for the extra insurance. Long story short, the dress sent by Fedex endured a storm and the dress was ruined. The bride blamed the mail delivery service and was suing Susan for $5k.  As I listened to her story, I simply said, I would not lose sleep over this; it’s not your fault. A couple of weeks later I popped in to get my mail and Susan stopped me and said, “you have no idea how much your words meant to me, that was the first time I was able to sleep through the night.” It looked as if the world was lifted off of her shoulders. Apparently, the case was settled and even though she did not have to pay for the damage, she offered the bride half the monies, for peace of mind. So, a double blessing, Susan was relieved and the bride was given compensation for her entire dress between Fedex and Susan’s goodness from her heart. Who knew a simple statement, was a blessing to Susan’s ears that day.

Blessings come in ways you don’t expect that offer an approval when at a point of no return. Even the small blessings that come along add up. Like when you are in traffic and late for work and the guy waves you ahead in line, or you are short changed at the store and the person at the cashier says’ don’t worry about it or the time you lost your keys and go back to where you thought they were and a stranger looks at you and says, hey are these your keys?  The panic and near surrender to doom and gloom and then voila completely reversed, the skies open up and placed you in a spot of relief where all is well in the world. And you may think whew! Count your blessings, right?

 

Blessings are the gift that keeps giving; yet the problem lies with allowing the blessings to come in. You see, life is an enormous feast and most of us are only eating half of it. Think of all the good that has come to you where you shrugged it off, turned away or simply took it for granted. When life offers you a penny, you want a dime. When life offers you love, you reject it out of fear. When life offers you an opportunity, it’s shunned. This is the ego’s playground, the resistance that lies within of “ not good enough.” When you deny your goodness, you are denying others and by doing so you are saying no to life and blocking blessings from coming in.

 

We all want to live blessed lives free from health issues, or financial struggle, where our relationships are harmonious and we are thriving. Perhaps you are awaiting a blessing right now?

 

Here are a few tips to invite a blessing into your life:

Allow blessings to come in, you must say YES to life and live fully.

  1. Delight in the Universe and presence of your life force; engage in the power of you and childlike wonder.
  2. Be in the moment of life and life rewards you back with blessings.

3. Realize that you are already blessed, cause you are here on this earth as a spiritual being having a human experience. Shine your light.

4. Know that you are loved for who you are and we are blessed to have you. You are a blessing.

5. Blessings are happening frequently. From the time you wake up to the time you go to bed, all day everyday, blessings are taking shape in and around us. Believe it.

The main ingredient to a successful and fulfilled life is gratitude.
While during chaotic and troubling economic times, gratitude may seem elusive and most people often forget to practice the fact that usually what we need , we already have and for that we should be thankful everyday.
The easiest ways to make your blessings count is to count your blessings Acknowledge what is good in your life. Once you begin to do so, you will feel how powerful gratitude can be, in fact it makes what you appreciate stronger.
In the haste of our busy lives, we overlook the simple laws of gratitude, so here is a quick refresher.
1. Gratitude is all – inclusive – Good days give you happiness, bad days give you wisdom. Both are essential to growing and evolving.
Both the fortunate an unfortunate occurrences in your life leads to gratitude. You would not be the person you are today, which has contributed to the advancement of your life, by practicing gratitude.
There are no coincidences in life, the ordinary people you have met have taught you something in your life. Everything that takes place in your life everyday, take notice, it forms a new kind of perspective that may not have been there previously.

2. The tribute to the ones you lost is not grief but gratitude – Sometimes the greatest gift imaginable is the one that did not last forever. Be thankful your paths crossed and had the chance to create the most wonderful moments of your life.

3. Being present, is being grateful– everyday you wake up and take a breathe is a moment of life that leads to another moment of your life. Take solace in the privilege of walking this earth, the beauty of nature and wondrous miracles speaking to you by choosing to be present.

4. Gratitude includes giving back – Think about how much more we receive everyday then we give. The moments where a stranger let’s you go ahead of them in line at the grocery store, a friend buys you lunch or a cup of coffee for no reason other than enjoying your presence, a professional goes above and beyond to form a solution, just simply by listening and helping with his/her wisdom and knowledge.
It is in the giving and the gratitude of receiving that makes life rich.

5. Live and DO Gratitude – those who journal 5 things a day that brings them gratitude have been studied, in over a decade of scientific research, to be happier people. When you think, speak and act in gratitude, this is what brings more meaning and positivity into your life, according to Psychology Today.

When you are feeling sad, anxious, depressed or lonely, change your attitude to gratitude. Your blessings may be far greater than your perceived misfortunes. Try it!

Whether you are a high achiever or have an intense work schedule, the fastest way to stress is trying to do it all by yourself. However, highly productive professionals have mastered time management. So if you want to learn from top athletes, straight A students and over 200 entrepreneurs and other billionaires as to what they do differently here are a few tips:

 

 

  1. Focus on Minutes: of the 1440 minutes in a day, use them wisely and with intention.
  2. Set Daily priorities: The task that is the most important or hardest is the one you should work on every morning for 2 hours.
  3. Do away with your TO DO LIST: place ALL activities, including your workout time, in your calendar.
  4. Beat Procrastination: Imagine your future self has already done the task, and get it done NOW, so your future self will have time to do the things she really wants to do.
  5. Eat Dinner: Being home for dinner by  time- blocking your priorities throughout the day ,will have you home and feeling guilt free.
  6. Utilize a Notebook: Capture everything including your ideas in a notebook, this way you keep your mind clear. By decluttering your brain you intuitively organize your thoughts which encourages goal achievement.
  7. Only check email 2x a day, 3 at most: Look at emails once in the morning, respond, then afternoon emails and social media in the afternoon. This way your flow is not interrupted.
  8. Avoid Meetings: try to have short meetings at all costs, if at all.
  9. Say NO: what you would normally say yes to, start saying NO, unless it is part of your goals.
  10. Follow the 80/20 Rule: Spend 80% of your time on the top 20% that produces outcomes. Find that 20%.
  11. Delegate or Outsource: the majority of your time should be spent on what you are good at. The rest should be outsourced or delegated to. For example, if you are the boss or CEO, focus more ON your business not IN your business. Systems and process can be handled by parties whose time is dedicated to those tasks.
  12. Work Theme Days: schedule certain days of the week for major areas and work tasks around those days.
  13. Touch Things only Once: if something will take less than 10 minutes, do it immediately, so it is complete.
  14. A Morning Ritual: From Tony Robbins to Oprah, a morning ritual sets the tone for your day. Set aside an hour each morning for mental, physical and spiritual health. Journaling and gratitude are also important for improving happiness.
  15. Focus on energy, not time: Maximize your energy throughout the day and take breaks in between. Get lots of sleep, eat well and exercise, this improves sharpness and productivity.

I highly recommend a gratitude, happiness and goal setting journal. Most successful people spend 15 minutes a day journaling, it is the number one method to overcoming obstacles.

Welcome to the first week of Spring! Spring brings new growth. A chance to weed out the bad and make room for something beautiful. Can you visualize what that would be for you?

With this fresh new energy, where would you like to be in your health, career, finances, home life, relationships and flow of everyday life? Write it down.

Think about what makes you unique. Your wisdom, personality, life experience, strengths, background, even major life transformations are key ingredients that comprise your natural abilities, namely your gifts. I call this your genius zone.

Happy Birthday,  America!

For those of us living in the States, we are blessed to be born in a place where freedom, liberty and justice for all, reigns. Often our freedom to make choices is often constrained by our limited thinking. To know that one has the power to choose to do, be and create whatever they want is a power often abused or ignored, mainly because it appears as free. Our freedom is all part of the beauty that our founding fathers had the courage to create with walking away from an oppressive government to create a life and pursuit of happiness in a new Union, better known as the United States of America.

Therefore, we owe our freedom to our forefathers and those brave enough to protect our country’s freedom. Our freedom is a gift and comes with the challenge to embrace your freedom and make choices that align with solid core values, such as integrity, respect, trust, honesty, kindness, generosity….

The most powerful human ability is the ability to make choices. Every moment of every day we make choices. From the time we awake in the morning, the clothes we wear to the decisions at work, home, career and finances, all leads to a road of well-being. In turn, you can choose to be busy, you can choose to be stressed, you can choose your own happiness and joy, it’s genuinely up to you. No one has the power over your own happiness, as you hold the key.

According to Webster’s dictionary freedom is defined as; ” the absence of constraint of choice. “

In essence, most focus on what is limiting them, most focus on , what is in the way, what is lacking, what is not working ? How about what is working, what are you grateful for and what are the solutions available if we choose to look beyond the scarcity of our own thoughts and fears?

You see you do have the freedom to choose beyond what society would mold you to believe and begin to choose at any moment what freedom means to you: The freedom to choose…

  • to leave an abusive relationship
  • to say I love you
  • to start opening your heart and dating again
  • to create that new business
  • to write that book
  • to lose the weight
  • to stand up for yourself
  • to get divorced
  • to start a new career
  • to ditch the self- limiting thoughts
  • to stop staying in victim mode
  • to begin a new chapter of your life
  • to take a class
  • to volunteer
  • to overcome fear
  • to make new friends

It is up to us to make this country great! And to do so, you must live in your greatness and choose your highest potential, this takes action, ladies and gentlemen. Live your life by generating your own freedom and start making courageous choices. To honor this life you are honoring those who sacrificed their own lives so you could have the opportunity to shine and pursue your happiness and fulfill your potential.

It is time to make choices toward positive change and live in freedom where the action you take makes an impact and ripple effect to cause celebration to be alive!

Chances are if you are reading this, you know you require some kind of change in your life, but you may not be sure what that looks like? It is perfectly natural to feel stuck in life and it is also important for you to recognize that you will soon feel unstuck. Here are 4 steps how:

1. Feel Free to be YOU–   seems simple, yet many questions, who we are, where we are going and how to get there?  It’s ok to feel this way as the only constant in life is change. When you resist change and dig your heels in you  are basically  blocking the Universe from welcoming you into newness.  By being open, one must think positively and believe in yourself. Your comfort zone is no longer working for you, so it simply is time to move on. Newness feels good, try it, jump in, the water is warm! This is what the Universe is promoting your consciousness to do! Feel free to be you and experience something new, as the core of who you are is simply love. Feel the love, affection and belief in self, you will attract this in return and who knows what good will materialize.

2. What inspires YOU? – Think through what turns you ON, makes you feel good from the inside out. If you lost that spark, the groove which prompts you with feeling alive, chances are  you stopped doing what inspires you? Instead of relying on the excuses of why you put your inspirations on the back burner, you made a choice to get lost in your “stuff”, the yuck going on in your head, external world and or life circumstances. That’s OK, simply do what inspires you and capture your groove and flow, it’s in the action that movement forms, it’s inaction that creates doubt.

Science tells us that we as humans have 50% ability to create our own happiness. This is the power of choice, choose differently, right now, to celebrate what inspires you! Perhaps it is writing, painting, water skiing, cooking, gardening, yoga, meditation? You are the master of your domain, jump on the inspiration highway and get moving!!

3. Stop Worrying – you have made it through confusing times before and you will get through whatever is happening now. Feel confident in knowing your miracle is right around the corner and a breakthrough is on its way. Everything is happening in divine order, be patient, a positive solution will take place. Turn your worry into gratitude, focus on what you are grateful for in this moment, by doing so, you create a shift within and life starts to look better than what you want to believe. Think of three things you are grateful for right now, write them down and place them in an area where you see it often.

4. Take advantage of your Life Force –  we are all given a life force, an energy that allows for our own abilities to manifest and create whatever it is we desire. Many of us take advantage of our life force by ignoring it because it’s free. If you had to pay for your life force, chances are you would not be able to afford it because it is priceless. Your life force contains you ability to; imagine, visualize, positive thoughts, creative energy, and internal ambition. The ego plays games with this force because as adults we use those programmed defense mechanisms, such as denial, projection, undoing, which block our life force. Placing us in a stand still or “I can’t do it”, “don’t know how”, “it will never work” thought process. Your life force is a natural stream of what is possible. Be open to the possibilities and tap into your life force. Try this simple process, then work backward; Visualize, create, strategize, connect and celebrate. Visualize your what’s next, place your intuition into a creative form, choose a mentor to strategize the sweet spot for making this happen for you into actionable steps, connect with the Universe  and celebrate the possibilities and breakthroughs!

2016Here we are approaching the New Year of 2016.

Dear Friends,

As the holidays wind down, it is natural to do just that, relax and enjoy some time off. Of course, as one does so, you can’t help but think about your future. As I ponder this past year and focus upon what I would like to change in my life toward sustainable well being, honesty steps in. I realize the ultimate choice is the one that we take for granted because it is free, and this is our happiness.

An amazing thing happens when you become honest with yourself, start doing what you love and what makes you happy. Life slows down; you enjoy the little things and recognize the smells around you that bring up good feelings inside, like the smell of homemade bread. Life literally slows down and you stop wishing for the weekends. Life slows down to where you appreciate the moment and begin to feel like a human being, not a human doing. A feeling of contentment, calm and joy flows and therefore life flows, like the natural movement of the waves of the ocean. You move fluidly, calmly and grateful. A veil is lifted and a new perspective is born. When you become clear, your happiness leads to a success beyond what you can imagine. An occurrence manifests when you sit in silence and determine what gives you pleasure and meaning. The pleasure of a baby smiling, the meaning it has of unconditional love. The pleasure of helping another because you can with no expected outcome giving the meaning of kindness. The pleasure of mentoring another with your wisdom offers meaning of fostering a future for our children and their children.

When honesty persists, we have the power to be persistent and no longer take happiness and freedom for granted. When you capture the feeling of your happiness you will feel the ultimate choice of painting your life’s canvas, and this will lead to you happiest year ever!

In closing, it is your time to shine, be bold, be brave, and be YOU!

How to be healthier and Happier about Finding LoveIn a recent interview I was asked by a dating coach about Love, Health, Happiness and Finding Love again after a breakup or divorce. Love and happiness go hand in hand, take a peek at the love insights:

A common problem my clients seem to face is deep rooted skepticism and bitterness especially those who have been recently rejected, dumped, cheated and abandoned by a spouse or significant other. They reach a point where they are either burned out or they have completely lost faith that they can ever find the right man or woman and be happy. How can people overcome this negativity and skepticism and cultivate a positive outlook and be hopeful?

If you want to find love in a healthier and happier manner, you must be what you want to attract. Be the change that you seek.

Yes, it is common to feel skepticism about people who disappoint you, know you are not alone in feeling this way. As you navigate the healing process we are often left with unanswered questions, the why’s, the how come’s, the what did I do or say?

I am here to tell you, that you are ENOUGH! And a man/woman certainly does not define you. However, when things don’t work out with someone whether it’s to do with love or any other kind of relationship it usually represents a lack of an agreement(s). Most of us who are not clearly communicating and forming agreements with each other, where both are on the same page, both will have different expectations. Expectations often lead to disappointment. So think about those love relationships and put yourself in the other person’s shoes for a minute, do you recall a conversation about exclusivity with each other, or the word commitment or loyalty? Now, whether he or she shared these words with you or not, what did their actions portray?

If a person does not follow his/her words with actions or simply the actions tell you how they want to be with you, than there is a lack of integrity or incongruence taking place. This may not have to do with you at all, in other words, if a person cannot be honest with themselves, how can they be honest with you? So let’s go a step deeper, what is it about yourself that you are not being honest about? The more you become honest about yourself the more you will recognize and attract a healthy person who also loves them self. Until you are honest about feelings about YOU, you will continue to mirror yourself in another and repeat toxic feel good patterns.

To become happier and healthier start loving yourself more and stop seeking confirmation from external entities. Happiness is an inside job, take some time out for you and enjoy your life and do what you love to do. In most cases, you will meet the right person who loves to do similar things that you do! Be kind to yourself and choose someone who is kind to you, by doing so you must be BELIEVE you deserve happiness, you deserve love and you can start to receive this in return. But you must be open to receive. Start with a new mantra, I believe and I receive mantra ” I believe I am good and I am open to receive all that is good.” A mantra supplies positive energy all day long. The more you think and utilize your new mantra the sooner your life will change because all that occurs is how you respond to it. Change your response, change your attitude about it and recognize there is something far better awaiting for you.

Lastly, it is ok to feel sad, disappointed, anger, we must embrace our feelings in order to understand what happiness is for you. Feel your feelings and know that all feelings are fleeting. Ponder, contemplate, express those feelings in a healthy manner, as this leads you one step closer to a happier you!

stressfreeholidayStress is a very common factor is today’s busy world. Between long to-do lists, managing daily expenses and juggling multiple roles we play in our lives, it is no surprise that stress consumes Americans.

 

According to the 2013 Stress in America survey, most adults do not believe they’re doing a good job managing the demands of life. The good news is stress and anxiety is highly manageable. However, there are several myths related to stress as well as realistic de-stressors.

 

People have various ideas about what stress is. For example, burn out from work is less about the hours you put in and more about feeling unfulfilled or lack of interest about the work involved in the job.

 

By proactively managing our stress and well-being you can begin to intentionally create meaning and pleasure in your life toward a lifestyle that has you feeling excited about the holidays and New Year to come.

 

Take note to common myths and de-stressors to improve well-being: Ready, set, go!

 

Don’t wait for a rare opportunity to meet with friends once a year.

Do create more realistic ways in which to spend quality time with friends more often.

Don’t buy a gift to fulfill an expectation.

Do buy or create a personal memento that depicts meaning, purpose and pleasure.

Don’t forfeit your vacation days until the end of the year.

Do schedule vacations and commit to taking all of your vacation days to rest and enjoy life outside of your job throughout the year.

Don’t linger in old patterns that stunt your potential.

Do choose to focus on what brings you closer to your desires by going beyond your comfort zone and try something new.

Don’t use holiday food and alcohol as an excuse to cope with your anxiety and stress.

Do exercise 30 minutes a day to reduce stress, which actually makes you 2.8 years younger.

Don’t focus negative energy toward what is not working in your life.

Do practice what you have gratitude for and write it in a journal nightly. Those who keep a gratitude journal have been reported to be healthier.

Don’t put off your dreams any longer.

Do take time each day to accomplish a task that brings you closer to your life’s dream.

Don’t ignore what your body is telling you.

Do get a good night rest, every night.

Don’t wait to buy gifts and rush to accomplish holiday tasks at the last minute.

Do get organized and start holiday tasks and purchases, by a specific date, to avoid holiday traffic and the mad rush.

Don’t think I must fight stress.

Do think of healing as the answer.

Don’t feel you need to isolate yourself when holiday blues occur.

Do surround yourself with people who lift you up, reach out and fake it to you make it. We have the capacity to re-train our brains by changing the energy we create within ourselves.

running in heels Are you a woman running heals, frantic to figure out your time with career, money, family and social life but end up not doing anything at all to resolve this feeling of disarray? Well, join the club! Each and every one of us has been there. I coin this as “women running in heels”, as we tend to do it all, want it all, try to make it ALL happen and end up stressed and simply exhausted. This was me some 2 years ago, giving, giving , giving to others with barely enough time to renew myself or adjust to a life worth creating, without falling short on quality people time, sleep and a life outside of my career!   According to the American Psychological Association stress gender survey, stress has been significantly more on the rise for women than men. Almost half of women surveyed (49%) reported a rise in stress over the past five years. We , as women, are all too willing to please others holding a false belief that if we handle it all, then life will be easier by doing it ourselves versus delegating the details to someone else.   So how is that working for you?

The bottomline is,  life  is running YOU, instead of YOU creating the life that you desire and deserve.  So, what do you really want or better yet, what do you want to get out of life, right now? The one constant that we can never capture again is our time.  Perhaps it’s time to just STOP  the crazy life treadmill and determine what feels right versus what is wrong? Step back and begin to get clear and envision your happiness , as this will attract the abundance, joy and desire you deserve! I learned this the hard way with a come to Buddha moment, where my company car almost crashed from going out of control and landed in front of two eight foot Buddha statues outside a furniture store in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles. Talk about a wake up call to the antithesis of my chaotic life careening me to the edge of no return.  I certainly would not want this to happen to you. However, in hindsight what I learned was the best choices are the one’s we make consciously, not from reactive measures or societal demands. We are human and the Universe has a funny way of  journeying back to self  to  determine if we are practicing self – love and self – care.

My story , as a woman running in heels, was an opportunity for me to go deep, recognize my soul calling and begin to consciously transform myself to the writer , now, published  Author and Inspiration Coach that I deeply yearned to be.
